Harmony is an a capella singing group founded in 1992 to perform Christmas Carols for holiday events. The group got its start after two of the founders experienced a strolling Dickens caroling group entertaining at a local restaurant. After years of family caroling parties, it was decided to create a more professional sound. The group has ranged from five to twelve members over the years, and is populated by residents of the beach communities in the south bay of the Los Angeles area. Harmony has entertained at private house parties, retail stores, shopping centers, and community open houses, and visits nursing homes and retirement homes. The group's selection of music includes both the classical religious carols as well as a selection of secular pieces that range from madrigal to up-beat modern numbers. The Dickens costumes worn by the group emulate the Victorian style in vogue in the time of the Dickens Christmas Carol. Our goal is to entertain by creating a festive holiday mood.
